Notes: The student must have competency in HLTAID003 Provide First Aid, in order to complete the HLTHPS006 Assist clients with medication unit. Industry consultation supports training in the Aged Care Funding Instrument (ACFI)
Learning Outcome: Assessment is by demonstration of knowledge, skills and leadership through completion of theory, practicals and research. There are two clinical workbooks and each unit has activities that must be completed.

This qualification addresses work primarily in residential facilities within clearly defined organisation guidelines and service plans.
You may work in a Nursing Home, Hostel, Residential Care Facility, Dementia Care Facility, Rehabilitation Centre, a Retirement Village, and The Community Health Care Centre or in some Hospitals.
At Ready Health Nursing College you will learn about ACFI, Client Assessment, Medications, Complex Care, Behaviour Management, Blood Pressure testing, Blood Sugars, BMI etc. and be able to perform procedures relevant to a Team Leader’s role.
Your role involves carrying out activities related to maintaining an individual’s well being through personal care and/or other activities of daily living. You will be required to carry out activities related to the provision of services to individuals with complex needs, and /or work with groups of older people. Work may include training and support to promote independence and community participation, which may be provided as part of activities and programs in a variety of settings including residential and centre-based programs. You will report to service managers and liaise with professionals and other service providers. You may be required to supervise and/or coordinate a limited number of other workers.
